CDO - Data Analyst
Join Barclays as a CDO - Data Analyst, where you will develop, implement, and maintain effective governance frameworks for data and records across global operations. You will be responsible for building and maintaining comprehensive data governance frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards, monitoring data quality metrics and compliance, and identifying and addressing data management risks and gaps.
You will develop and implement records management programmes ensuring proper identification, classification, storage, retention, retrieval, and disposal of records. You will also create and execute data governance strategies aligned with the bank's overall data management objectives and provide organization-wide guidance and training on data and records management standards.
The role requires strong proficiency in Power BI (DAX, modelling, visual design), solid Python experience for data manipulation and automation, and advanced Excel skills including Power Query and complex formulas. You should have working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) including services such as S3, EC2, Redshift, and hands-on experience with RDBMS systems like Oracle. A strong understanding of data warehousing, data lake concepts, ETL/ELT pipelines, and familiarity with modern data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake is expected.
Additionally, familiarity with UNIX, shell scripting, code repositories (Git), Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices is required. Understanding of data governance, data quality, and regulatory reporting is desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential.
