Visualisation & UX Lead
Join Barclays as a Visualisation & UX Lead where you will spearhead the delivery of the technology stack, using strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand business requirements and deliver quality solutions through process design of foundational, consolidated, and business data products.
You will translate business requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications that balance user needs with strategic objectives. You will lead the design of dashboards and reports with a focus on usability, accessibility, and impact, while guiding junior developers during the build phase with expertise, support, and quality assurance.
Key responsibilities include facilitating and participating in the VUX Forum for peer challenge, feedback, and approval, establishing and upholding visualisation standards and design principles across the organization, and partnering with stakeholders to validate prototypes and secure buy-in before development. You will also conduct review and approval at key delivery gates to ensure outputs meet design, usability, and business expectations.
Additionally, you will collaborate closely with data engineering and BI development teams to ensure data models, semantic layers, and metadata structures support intended design outcomes. You will leverage storytelling techniques to turn complex data into compelling, actionable narratives and perform heuristic evaluations of existing dashboards to identify opportunities for simplification and redesign. Contributing to centralised guidance, templates, and resources to upskill the broader analytics community is also expected.
