As a Lead Architect for Digital, Data & CRM within Corporate Digital Banking at Barclays, you will design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business problems. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and create architectures that balance technology risks against business delivery while driving consistency.
You will lead solution architecture activities including workload placement strategies that maximize cloud capabilities such as elasticity, serverless computing, and containerization. Your designs will incorporate security best practices like defence in depth and reduction of blast radius, meeting the bank's resiliency expectations.
Key responsibilities include designing solutions as evolving products aligned with modern software engineering and automated delivery tooling, adopting standardized solutions where appropriate, performing solution design impact assessments covering risk, capacity and cost, and developing architecture artefacts for governance processes including privacy, security, and records management.
The role requires deep expertise across Identity & Access Management, Web/Mobile/API channels, internet-facing environments, Salesforce (Sales & Servicing), cloud infrastructure (AWS/Container Platforms), event-driven architecture, streaming platforms (Kafka), operational data stores, Snowflake, MongoDB, AI & Analytics, and lakehouse capabilities. You will also work with corporate party data, client/legal entity hierarchies, and data quality, lineage, and governance frameworks.
You will manage the direction of a large team or sub-function, contribute to function-wide strategic initiatives, and communicate clear strategy and roadmaps up to ExCo levels across both business and technology stakeholders.
