Senior Team Leader
Join Barclays as a Senior Team Leader within the Risk function, where you will lead a team of experienced credit sanctioners managing a portfolio across various UK industries. You will assess and approve or decline credit applications based on established credit policies, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements, while analysing financial information and evaluating creditworthiness to ensure responsible lending practices.
The role requires autonomy of decision-making in a commercial and client-focused environment, exercising personal judgement in applying lending criteria and guidelines. You will perform robust market, business, and credit analysis to determine lending appetite, structure deals, and set appropriate conditionality. Timely identification of credit deterioration is essential to support clients experiencing financial stress and agree on appropriate turnaround or managed exit strategies, protecting the bank from both credit and reputational risk.
You will monitor the performance of approved lending, identify potential risks and early warning signs of delinquency, and develop and implement appropriate courses of action for troubled lending including workout plans, restructuring, or collections. The role involves evaluating each application's risk profile by considering industry trends, borrower financials, collateral, and market conditions.
