UI Lead
Join Barclays as a UI Lead within the Private Bank Processing business area, where you will support the organisation in achieving its strategic objectives by identifying business requirements and delivering solutions that address business problems and opportunities. You will manage the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the software product lifecycle.
You will be responsible for managing delivery, resource allocation, and improvement of complex technical capabilities using Agile/Scrum methodologies including sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives. The role involves collaborating with software engineers, quality teams, product managers, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features aligned with the bank's objectives, regulations, and security policies.
The ideal candidate is a skilled Java engineer with hands-on experience in React JS, strong knowledge of UI technologies including React, HTML5, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS3, Bootstrap CSS, Node.js, and Jest. You should have experience developing REST APIs using Spring Boot Framework, knowledge of design patterns and application security, and familiarity with JSON over HTTP transport.
Additional valued skills include experience with relational databases like Oracle and MySQL, understanding of the MERN stack, experience in agile delivery environments with multi-location teams, and working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (OpenShift). A minimum of 9+ years of experience in Java and related technologies is required. Knowledge of React Native is a plus.
