Analyst - Financial Control
As an Analyst in Financial Control at Barclays within the Finance function, you will manage and support financial operations to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting accurate and timely financial statements and accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Your key accountabilities include supporting the identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks and reporting them to senior colleagues. You will develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraudulent misreporting, and ensure accuracy of financial data. This involves regularly assessing the effectiveness of internal controls and addressing any weaknesses or gaps.
You will also contribute to developing and implementing up-to-date financial policies and procedures for consistent financial practices across the organization. Coordination with external auditors and regulatory authorities in support of audits and examinations is part of the role. The position requires preparing and submitting statutory and regulatory reports to authorities.
Candidates must be qualified accountants (CA/CMA/ACCA) with a strong academic background and solid Excel skills. Prior experience in month-end or quarter-end reporting, control environments, or finance automation is valued. Understanding of IFRS accounting principles and strong stakeholder engagement skills are desirable.
